Politics And Business Topic Of March 2 ‘About Business’ Call-In Show
UNIVERSITY PARK, PA (February 26, 2003) – The business and economic issues that should engage the presidential candidates during their campaigns is the topic of the next edition of “About Business,” a monthly call-in show hosted by Judy Olian, dean of Penn State’s Smeal College of Business and a nationally syndicated newspaper columnist.
Simulcast at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, March 2, on WPSU-FM, WPSX-TV, and online at http://wpsu.psu.edu/abusiness/, the show will feature Fariborz Ghadar, director of the Center for Global Business Studies at the Smeal College of Business, G. Terry Madonna, director of the Center for Politics and Public Affairs at Millersville University, and Bob Kutz, president of the Blair-Bedford Counties Central Labor Council.
The mere mention of certain issues on the campaign trail prompts varied reactions. The federal budget deficit is spiraling out of control or will soon be half its current size. More and more Americans are finding jobs or the nation is in the midst of a “jobless recovery.” The Bush tax cuts are motivating economic growth or are disproportionately benefiting the wealthiest taxpayers.
On March 2, Olian and her guests on “About Business” will discuss these issues and others related to politics and the economy.
