Alumni Return To Give Career Advice During Smeal College's "Student Mentoring Day"

Students in Penn State's Smeal College of Business Administration will have an opportunity to get candid career advice from successful alumni during "Student Mentoring Day."

The Smeal College of Business Administration Alumni Association's Board of Directors presents "Student Mentoring Day" as an opportunity for business students to meet one-on-one with successful Penn State business alumni.

The mentoring sessions take place in the HUB-Robeson Center on Thursday, March 22, 2001. While the mentoring sessions have been offered to Smeal MBAs since 1991, "Student Mentoring Day" is now open to all Smeal undergraduates on a first-come first-served basis. Each session lasts approximately 45 minutes and covers each student's choice of topics. MBA students will be able to sign up exclusively on the Web from February 4 to February 13, and sign-ups are open to all Smeal College undergraduate students from February 14 to March 1.

"The alumni mentors have a great wealth of experience and diverse business backgrounds, so this is a great opportunity for the students to gain some valuable insights about their career paths and improve their résumés and interviewing skills," says Renee Marks, alumni director for Penn State's Smeal College of Business Administration.

Students can submit their résumés and a completed "Expectation Sheet" electronically on the Web site when they register or they may drop them off in person at 801 Business Administration Building within 48 hours after making their appointment. An appointment will be automatically deleted if a résumé is not received. Dress is business casual.
