Penn State Offers Online Instant Polls On E-Business Topics
UNIVERSITY PARK, PA-Penn State's eBusiness Research Center (eBRC) is now conducting monthly online surveys on various e-business topics. The new "Instant Poll" is found online at http://www.ebrc.psu.edu .
"This new tool allows us to gather information on how the public or businesses feel on e-business and e-commerce issues," explains Nirmal Pal, Executive Director of Penn State's eBusiness Research Center. The eBRC - a joint effort of Penn State's Smeal College of Business and the School of Information Sciences and Technology - promotes research by academics and practitioners on various aspects of e-business, with emphasis on governance and execution issues. The primary mission of eBRC is to foster, expand, and disseminate theoretical, empirical and applied research in e-business and to bring research insights to its supporting members and help them with e-business practice.
The inaugural eBRC "Instant Poll" asks: "We find a lot of folks, in the popular press especially, associate "e-business" with the dot.com meltdown. Do you continue to consider e-business to be of strategic significance to your organization?" More than 87 respondents have voted in the survey, and early results indicate that e-business is of strategic significance to 65 percent of the respondents' organizations.
"This gives instant feedback to businesses around the globe on a variety of e-commerce issues, and is another reason why the eBRC is rapidly becoming the premier national resource for content and information about e-business," says Pal.
A new question will be posted in January, and results from each "Instant
Poll" will be archived at the end of each month.
