Adobe 'Idea Mentor' To Speak On Fostering Innovation At Work
The leader of Adobe Systems Inc.'s innovation efforts is scheduled to lead an interactive workshop on "intrapreneurship" next month at Penn State's Smeal College of Business. Rick Bess, an "idea mentor" at Adobe, will lead a discussion entitled "What It Takes to Be an Entrepreneur Inside a Larger Company" at 4:40 p.m. on Oct. 31 in the Business Building's Struthers Auditorium.
Dell Executives To Discuss Company's Evolving Supply Chain Model At Smeal
Two Dell executives are scheduled to visit Penn State next month to meet with students and administrators and discuss Dell business strategies with students. Smeal College of Business alumnus Paul Bell '82, senior vice president and president of the Americas, and John Mullen, vice president of higher education, will visit Penn State on Oct. 11 and 12.

Garber Fund Portfolio Company Ranked Highly By Inc. Magazine
Schoolwires Inc., a privately
owned company in State College, Pa., that has been partially funded by the
Garber Venture Capital Fund at Penn State's Smeal College of Business, was
recently ranked No. 174 in the latest Inc. 5000 list of the best, fast-growing
privately held companies. The company ranked third overall within the education
industry.
Leading Manufacturers Gather At Smeal To Share Innovations
Executives from four leading manufacturing operations will gather in November at Penn State to discuss their experiences introducing change in their plant processes. The 62nd meeting of the Advanced Manufacturing Forum, hosted by the Center for the Management of Technological and Organizational Change at Penn State's Smeal College of Business, will be held Nov. 8 and 9 at The Penn Stater Conference Center Hotel on Penn State's University Park campus.
Jordan To Discuss Personal Technology Market At Major National Conference

Supply Chain Career Fair To Host 51 Companies
Recruiters from 51 of the world's leading companies will be at Penn State's Smeal College of Business on Sept. 17 to meet with students, accept resumes, and interview candidates seeking careers in the field of supply chain management. Smeal's semiannual Supply Chain Career Fair will take place from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the Business Building Atrium.

Rajdeep Grewal, professor of marketing at Penn State's Smeal College of
Business, with its 2007 Early Career Contributions Award at the AMA
Summer Educators' Conference in Washington. Grewal earned the award in recognition of his outstanding contributions to marketing strategy research, education, and practice.

Smeal Professor Earns Multiple Honors At Academic Conference
At its annual conference last month in Indianapolis, the Academy of Legal Studies in Business presented three awards to Daniel Cahoy, associate professor of business law at Penn State's Smeal College of Business. Among the honors, Cahoy received the Junior Faculty Award of Excellence for having made significant contributions in teaching, research, and the furthering of the profession of collegiate instruction of business law.
