Smeal Dean To Visit India

The dean of Penn State's Smeal College of Business will visit India this month to meet with some of the country's leaders in government, business, and education to explore partnerships between Smeal and Indian universities and discuss the growing importance of economic relations between the United States and India.

Companies Strong In Marketing Should Increase Efforts During Recession

With it appearing to be more and more likely that the U.S. economy is heading for a recession, many companies may be considering marketing cutbacks as one of the ways to endure the bear market. However, according to Smeal research, for well-positioned companies experienced in successful marketing, an economic recession should not prompt marketing cutbacks, but rather an aggressive increase in marketing spending to achieve superior business performance both in the short and long term.

Smeal Students Crafting Real Business Plans, Winning Accolades

Partnering with several startup companies each semester, students in an honors Finance class at Penn State's Smeal College of Business are drafting business plans for actual companies, working with their principals on implementation, and winning more than a few awards along the way.
