Executive MBA Students Hold Fund-Raiser For Pediatric Cancer Fight
Sports memorabilia, Penn State football tickets and accommodations, and a weekend of chauffer service are up for grabs by Smeal College of Business executive MBA students this weekend as they hold a silent auction and other fund-raisers to help in the fight against pediatric cancer. Items including a Franco Harris autographed football, an autographed Joe Paterno print, and NFL legend Randall Cunningham's shoes will be auctioned off with the proceeds benefitting the Penn State IFC/Panhellenic Dance Marathon (THON).
Marketing Students Raise $4,700 For Habitat For Humanity
About 180 students in a Smeal College of Business marketing class raised more than $4,700 this month for Habitat for Humanity. Students in Consumer Behavior (MKTG 330) split into 90 teams of two, each going door to door for 90 minutes in the State College area to ask residents to contribute spare change or volunteer some time to help Habitat for Humanity
Gittings Nominated For Outreach Honor
Gary Gittings, instructor in supply chain and information systems at Penn State's Smeal College of Business, has been nominated for Penn State Outreach's Vice President's Award for Excellent Service. The award honors Outreach faculty, staff, and technical-service employees who consistently demonstrate commitment to outstanding service to customers, students, faculty, and co-workers, among others.
ISBM Enters Alliance With Stage-Gate Inc.
The Institute for the Study of Business Markets (ISBM) at Penn State's Smeal College of Business has recently entered into an alliance agreement with Stage-Gate Inc. Smeal Professor To Testify Before U.S. Senate Commerce Committee
Marvin Goldberg, Bard Professor of Business Administration at Penn State's Smeal College of Business, is scheduled to testify tomorrow before the U.S. Senate Committee on Commerce, Science, and Transportation in a hearing on the accuracy of the Federal Trade Commission’s tar and nicotine cigarette rating system.
Deadline Extended For Competition Applicants
The deadline for Smeal College of Business undergraduates to submit application materials for the The Next CEO competition has been extended one week to Nov. 18. Ten contestants and two alternates will be selected from the applicant pool to compete for prizes, including $2,000 in PNC Visa Gift Cards and a flat-screen plasma television.
