Smeal Ranks Among Financial Times' Top 25 U.S. MBA ProgramsUNIVERSITY PARK, PA (January 29, 2007) – For the second year in a row, the MBA Program at Penn State's Smeal College of Business ranks 25th domestically on the Financial Times' annual ranking of MBA providers. The newspaper ranks Smeal 10th overall among U.S. public colleges and 43rd internationally. Additionally, the report ranks the college 23rd internationally in research published—up from 32nd last year—and 10th in North America for graduate salary increases. Smeal is ranked fifth overall in the Big Ten. This the ninth annual ranking of full-time MBA programs by the Financial Times. The results are based on surveys of 10,000 MBA alumni who graduated in 2003 and on information provided by the schools. Each school is judged on alumni salary and career development, the diversity and international reach of the school and its MBA program, and its research capabilities. The Smeal MBA Program combines the real-world experience afforded by the Smeal Global Immersion, the personal connections provided by alumni mentoring, and the instruction offered by a world-class faculty to provide graduates with a complete education experience and the skills necessary to be a leader in their organization.
