Smeal Professors Awarded $385,000 National Science Foundation Grant
The National Science Foundation has awarded a $385,000 research grant to two professors at Penn State's Smeal College of Business to study the architecture of transdisciplinary scientific collaboration. Raghu Garud, professor of management and organization, and Barbara Gray, professor of organizational behavior, will study the elements that enable researchers from different disciplines to develop innovative research by working across disciplinary boundaries.

NSF Director Available To Discuss Research Opportunities With Faculty
A director from the National Science Foundation will visit Penn State this month
to discuss research partnering opportunities with faculty from the Smeal College
of Business and the Marcus Department of Industrial & Manufacturing
Engineering. On Feb. 18, Cerry Klein, NSF program director, will deliver an interactive
talk entitled "Service Enterprises: Opportunities and Direction." The discussion
will start at 4 p.m. in 215 Business Building.

Penn State Names Treviño Distinguished Professor Of Ethics And Organizational Behavior
Linda Treviño, Franklin H. Cook Fellow in Business Ethics at Penn State's Smeal College of Business, has been named a Distinguished Professor by the University for her record of service to Smeal in both teaching and research. Effective July 1, 2008, her title will be Distinguished Professor of Ethics and Organizational Behavior.
Smeal Professor Earns Honor At National Entrepreneurship Conference

their presentation at the national conference of the United States Association
of Small Business and Entrepreneurship (USASBE), held last month in San

Three Smeal Students Awarded Supply Chain Scholarships
The Institute for Supply Management (ISM) Services Group has awarded three of its 2007 University Relations scholarships to Smeal College of Business students. Kevin Bonnell, Michael Holz, and Andrew Spicher, undergraduates majoring in Supply Chain and Information Systems, each received a $1,500 scholarship.
