Accounting Research Conference Brings Top Accounting Experts To SmealUNIVERSITY PARK, PA (April 29, 2008) – Leading accounting experts from around the country will gather at Penn State's Smeal College of Business on May 2 and 3 for the Department of Accounting's fourth annual Accounting Research Conference, sponsored by LSV Asset Management. The conference will feature five 75-minutes presentations by top accounting academics on their latest research topics and will close with a panel discussion on "Detection of Fraud and Irregularities." The agenda also includes meals, networking receptions, and recreational activities. The research presentations begin at 1 p.m. on May 2 following lunch in Smeal's Business Building. Day one will take place in 112 Forest Resources Building and day two will be held in 113 IST Building. The presenters and topics are: • Michelle Liu, Penn State's Smeal College of Business, "Accounting Irregularities and Executive Turnover in Founder Managed Firms" The panel discussion participants are Christopher Cornett of Credit Suisse, Steven Skalak of PricewaterhouseCoopers, and Jack Zwingli of Audit Integrity.
