Smith To Receive Accounting Education Award
Charles H. Smith, the KPMG Professor of Accounting at Penn State's Smeal College of Business, has been selected to receive the 2005 Distinguished Achievement in Accounting Education Award from the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA).

Marvin Goldberg, the Irving & Irene Bard Professor of Business Administration and chair of the Department of Marketing at Penn State's Smeal College of Business, has completed an in-depth report on marketing tactics to address the unhealthy eating habits of children and the growing problem of childhood obesity. He recently presented the major elements of the report to an Institute of Medicine task force.
Smeal Survivor Produces Newest Winner
Michael Ettinger, a Penn State senior majoring in finance and history, weathered three intense rounds of questioning from a panel of judges and emerged as the winner of Smeal Survivor V, an annual competition in which undergraduates become virtual CEOs of multi-national, multi-billion-dollar companies.

Penn State's Smeal College of Business hosted a panel discussion on energy issues in conjunction with its Board of Visitors meetings on April 14 in Philadelphia. Three Honored For Teaching & Advising Excellence
Karl Muller, Rose Mary Witham, and Kaan Kuzu have received 2004-2005 Dillwyn P. Paiste, III and Fred Brand, Jr. Awards from Penn State's Smeal College of Business. The awards, which recognize excellence in teaching and advising at the college, were presented April 5 during a ceremony at the Nittany Lion Inn.
