Smeal Partners with U.S. Army to Offer Logistics Training to Iraqi Officials
The Center for Supply Chain Research at Penn State's Smeal College of Business is working with the U.S. Army's Iraq Training and Advisory Mission (ITAM) to assist in the logistics training of Iraqi officials. From Dec. 6 through 11, nine Iraqi ministers, including the Senior Deputy Minister of Administration and Finance, and five Army ITAM soldiers will visit Penn State to take part in a supply chain fundamentals course led by Smeal faculty and other industry experts.
Global Innovation Tournament Helps Students Find Their Inner Entrepreneur
Hundreds of students from Penn State and other universities are gearing up to compete in a most unusual global competition: They will have just eight days to create innovative solutions to a mystery challenge using very limited resources, and to convey their results in a short video posted to YouTube. Called the Global Innovation Tournament, the competition is organized by the Stanford Technology Ventures Program (STVP) at Stanford University.
