Purchase Of Railroad Could Lure Investors To DM&E's Coal Project
The purchase of another small railroad by the Dakota, Minnesota & Eastern Corp. could be key to luring the investors needed to pay for the DM&E's $1.5 billion expansion into Wyoming's coal beds. "It would give them more connections, more outlets. That's strategically advantageous to the DM&E. It would give them their own access on their own line to those markets," said John Spychalski, a Penn State business logistics professor who specializes in railroads.
