Marketing Association Named Region's Best
The Penn State Marketing Association (PSMA), one of 29 student organizations at the Smeal College of Business, recently was named top chapter in the Eastern Region during the American Marketing Association International Collegiate Conference in New Orleans. PSMA also took first place for its use of the conference theme during the exhibit competition at the event.

Marvin Goldberg, the Irving & Irene Bard Professor of Business Administration and chair of the Department of Marketing at Penn State's Smeal College of Business, has completed an in-depth report on marketing tactics to address the unhealthy eating habits of children and the growing problem of childhood obesity. Wayne Desarbo, Smeal Distinguished Professor of Marketing in Penn State's Smeal College of Business, recently won the Natural Athlete Strength Association (NASA) USA National Championship in the 280-pound weight class, and set three USA and world records in his age/weight category for the bench press, deadlift, and total amount lifted. The performance earns him a trip to Oklahoma City in August for the World Championships.
