Student OrganizationsStudents in the Smeal College of Business MBA program enjoy access to a variety of activities and resources. The MBA Association is the largest of nine student run MBA organizations in Smeal.
Student OrganizationsMany Penn State Smeal students participate in clubs that they organize and manage around their professional, vocational, athletic, and social interests. Depending on their orientation, the clubs host industry speakers, take field trips, perform consulting and community service, stage and participate in sports events, and host social gatherings. Student clubs are limited only by the energy, interests and imagination of their participants. Organizations include: MBA AssociationThe MBAA serves as the student government in the Penn State Smeal MBA Program and as the umbrella organization to enhance career development, foster a sense of community, and represent the needs and concerns of the student body. In addition to this student government role, the MBAA is also dedicated to building and maintaining a sense of community in the program through the sponsorship of events. Finance AssociationThe MBA Finance Association prepares Smeal students for careers in corporate finance, which are related to both the internal perspective of the firm and the external perspective of the markets. The association is designed to give students access to Smeal alumni and current business leaders who can serve as mentors. The Finance Association also provides internal support to students for their professional-development efforts in the field of corporate finance. Lion PartnersLion Partners is an organization dedicated to welcoming and providing support for partners and family members who accompany Penn State Smeal students to Central Pennsylvania. Marketing AssociationThe MBA Marketing Association helps prepare Smeal students for marketing careers. The association is designed to give students access to Smeal alumni and current business leaders who can serve as mentors. The Marketing Association also provides internal support to students for their professional-development efforts in the field of marketing. Minority AssociationThe MMBAA strives to add value through continual diversity awareness and recruiting efforts within the Penn State Smeal MBA Program by providing a strong support base for professional development and enhancing the academic experience of MBA students. National Association of Women MBAsThe WMBA is dedicated to enhancing the personal and professional development of graduate business women and promoting professional and social networking opportunities. Throughout the year, many events are held to promote a supportive environment among the women of the Penn State Smeal MBA Program. Penn State Entrepreneurs NetworkThe Penn State Entrepreneurs Network (PSEN) is dedicated to empowering students with entrepreneurial spirit and an interest in new venture creation. The mission of PSEN is to promote personal and professional growth of members through lectures, networking events, business plan competitions, partnerships with the community, and Nittany Lion Venture Capital (NLVC). Penn State Net ImpactPSNI strives to educate students about the business case for corporate social responsibility and sustainable growth in order to understand, balance, and capitalize on the complex relationship between business success and social and environmental progress. Through speakers, workshops, field trips, panels, and discussion meetings, PSNI focuses on a collaborative learning environment where all members help educate each other. Supply Chain Management AssociationThe Supply Chain Management Association (SCMA) is a student-run organization dedicated to furthering student knowledge of supply chain management and enhancing the career development of our members. SCMA activities include guest lectures from industry representatives, factory tours, and networking opportunities with the Center for Supply Chain Research (CSCR).
