The Smeal College of Business MBA Marketing Association helps students prepare for a career in marketing by connecting them with successful professionals in the field.

MBA Marketing Association

  1. To foster a sense of camaraderie and community among its members that creates long-lasting bonds of both personal and professional friendships
  2. To further the interests of the marketing association by creating a community of students with diverse backgrounds and similar interests focused on linking experienced leaders of the business world with the individual growth of the association's members
  3. To create opportunities within the organization that provide every member full-time employment in an industry that is in alignment with their career interests and aspirations.

Planned Activities for 2007 - 2008

  • Host guest speaker events throughout the year
  • Host a variety of social events
  • Conduct a "Marketing 101" Interview Workshop and a separate Resume Workshop for classmates within the association
  • Participate in Krannert Case Competition
Officer Bios
Kat Keeratiprapa

Kat Keeratiprapa, President

Kat comes to Smeal from Bangkok, Thailand, where she attained her bachelor's degree in general management. After college, she started a career as a stock broker, but then realized her love for marketing and started a new career at Leo Burnett Thailand, where she handled the advertising for McDonald’s.

Four years and over twenty campaigns later, Kat is back for her MBA at Smeal, where she is focusing on product & market development and strategic leadership. She chose Smeal because of the program’s personal focus and leadership development. With a Smeal MBA and a passion for marketing, she hopes to transition from advertising to brand consulting upon graduation.

Sahil Asthana

Sahil Asthana, VP Corporate & Alumni Relations

 

After graduating from Temple University, where he majored in management information systems, Sahil joined Accenture, LTd. and then, moved on to a boutique consulting firm. He brings his five years of consulting experience and perspective to the MBA program and hopes to apply it effectively within his studies.
Sahil chose to pursue his MBA at the Smeal College of Business because of the strength of the marketing and entrepreneurship portfolios and the chance to learn from well respected faculty. Along with the leadership position of vice president of corporate and alumni relations, Sahil is an active member of the MBA Entrepreneurship Association.

Rachna Shetty

Rachna Shetty, VP Marketing & Communications

Rachna is originally from Mumbai, India. She graduated from K.J. Somaiya Institute of Engineering and IT in 2005 with a degree in computer engineering. Prior to returning to school, Rachna worked at a multinational software firm, Mastek, as a software engineer. At Mastek she was involved in a project for the National Health Service, UK.
At Smeal, Rachna is pursuing product and market development as her primary portfolio with supply chain management as a secondary portfolio. Rachna is also a research assistant at the Institute for Study of Business Markets (ISBM).

In her free time Rachna enjoys reading autobiographies and traveling.

Craig Musheno

Craig Musheno, VP Finance & Events

After graduating from Penn State with a bachelor's degree in marketing, Craig worked as a B2B sales executive for an automation solutions company in North Carolina. He chose to return to Penn State for his MBA to take advantage of the vast resources that the Penn State community has to offer along with the personal focus of the MBA program.

Along with the Marketing Association, Craig is also involved in the program as the recruiting ambassador chair for the MBAA as well as the Web master for the MBA THON site. After his MBA experience, he plans to continue his career in marketing.
