Student-Run Organizations

Outside of the classroom, student-run organizations within the Smeal College of Business and across Penn State offer additional opportunities to advance your leadership skills within a team environment.

Penn State Smeal MBA Student Associations

MBA Association: The MBAA serves as the student government in the Penn State Smeal MBA Program, addressing the needs and concerns of the student body as well as enhancing career development and fostering a sense of community through the sponsorship of events.

Finance Association: The MBA Finance Association prepares Smeal MBA students for careers in corporate finance, connecting them with Smeal alumni and current business leaders who can serve as mentors. The Finance Association also provides internal support to students for their professional development efforts in the field of corporate finance.

Marketing Association: The MBA Marketing Association helps prepare Smeal MBA students for marketing careers, connecting them with Smeal alumni and current business leaders who can serve as mentors. The Marketing Association also provides internal support to students for their professional development efforts in the field of marketing.

MBA Consulting Association: The MBA Consulting Association educates students on the consulting profession, providing them with ways to practice and improve their consulting skills and by helping them find internships and full-time positions as consultants.

Minority MBA Association: The MMBAA strives to add value to the Smeal MBA student experience through continual diversity awareness and recruiting efforts and by providing a strong support base for professional development and enhancing the academic experience of MBA students.

MBA Women International (WMBA): The WMBA provides a supportive environment among women in the Smeal MBA Program and is dedicated to enhancing the personal and professional development of graduate businesswomen through networking opportunities.

Smeal MBA Military and Veterans' Association: The Smeal MBA Military and Veterans Association provides support for recruiting, professional development, and leadership service to the MBA Admissions Office, students, and veterans in order to create and sustain a mutually beneficial relationship between the college and its veterans.

Supply Chain Management Association: SCMA is dedicated to furthering student knowledge of supply chain management and enhancing the career development of our members. SCMA activities include guest lectures from industry representatives, factory tours, and networking opportunities with the Center for Supply Chain Research (CSCR).

Penn State Entrepreneurs Network: PSEN is dedicated to empowering students with an entrepreneurial spirit and interest in new venture creation. The mission of PSEN is to promote personal and professional growth of members through lectures, networking events, business plan competitions, and partnerships with the community.

Penn State Net Impact: PSNI strives to educate students about the business case for corporate social responsibility and sustainable growth in order to understand, balance, and capitalize on the complex relationship between business success and social and environmental progress. Through speakers, workshops, field trips, panels, and discussion meetings, PSNI focuses on a collaborative learning environment.

For Families of Penn State Smeal MBA Students

Lion Partners: Lion Partners is an organization dedicated to welcoming and providing support for the partners and family members of Smeal MBA students. Socially, Lion Partners has offered various family friendly gatherings designed to connect members with others in their situation. The group also coordinates resume distribution to assist with job placement for partners.
