Briscoe has expertise in institutional change, professional organizations and careers, and organizational employment practices. Recent research has investigated the social and political mechanisms through which organizations are persuaded to break from the status quo.
Dr. Keith Crocker Dr. Keith Crocker
William Elliott Chaired Professor of Insurance and Risk Management
Insurance and Real Estate Department

Crocker is a former Federal Trade Commission economist and has served as an expert witness in cases involving antitrust and insurance concerns. Before joining Smeal, Crocker was a member of the faculty at the University of Michigan’s Ross School of Business.
Dr. Wayne DeSarbo Dr. Wayne DeSarbo
Smeal Chaired Professor of Marketing
Marketing Department

DeSarbo has expertise in multidimensional scaling, classification, and multivariate statistics as they relate to marketing problems. DeSarbo has held similar chaired professorships at Wharton and the University of Michigan’s Ross School of Business, and he has served as a consultant for firms such as AT&T, Pfizer, and Motorola.
Dr. Heber Farnsworth Dr. Heber Farnsworth
Assistant Professor of Finance

Farnsworth has expertise in areas such as fixed income, credit risk, and portfolio theory. He is part of the steering committee for the Center for Global Financial Stability, which is evaluating the causes of financial crises.

Garud has expertise in emerging industries, entrepreneurship, and technological change and innovation. Before joining Smeal, has was a faculty member at New York University.

Ghadar has expertise in global corporate strategy and implementation, international finance and banking, and global economic assessment. Ghadar, one of BusinessWeek's "Top 100 Stars of Finance," was a recipient of AT&T's prestigious 5.0 award for teaching excellence.
Dr. Dennis Gioia Dr. Dennis Gioia
Professor of Organizational Behavior
Management and Organization Department

Gioia has expertise in the cognitive processes involved in organizational decision making; executive interpretation processes during strategic change efforts; the role of organizational identity, image, and emulation; and employee and executive appraisal processes. Earlier in his career, Gioia worked as an engineer for Boeing Aerospace during the Apollo lunar program and for Ford Motor Company.

A former chair of the Department of Accounting at the Smeal College of Business, Givoly has been a consultant to corporations on issues such as accounting standards, financial reporting, and economic valuation.
Dr. Andy Gustafson Dr. Andy Gustafson
Assistant Professor of Business Administration

Gustafson has expertise in oral, written, and graphic presentation skills as director of the MBA Communications Program. He has worked with Smeal MBA students for 15 years helping to shape their communication skills for future careers.
Dr. Donald Hambrick Dr. Donald Hambrick
Smeal Chaired Professor of Management
Management and Organization Department

Hambrick has expertise in strategy formulation and implementation, CEOs and top management teams, corporate governance, and executive leadership. His book, "Navigating Change: How CEOs, Top Teams, and Boards Steer Transformation," presents leading-edge thinking for leaders who are embarking on corporate change initiatives. He is the former president of the Academy of Management.
Dr. Terry Harrison Dr. Terry Harrison
Professor of Supply Chain and Information Systems
Research Director of the Center for Supply Chain Research

Harrison has expertise in the areas of supply chain modeling, large-scale production and distribution systems, decision support systems, and the management of renewable natural resources. Harrison serves as a key liaison for the college in its ongoing supply chain consulting relationships with the U.S. military.

Kreiner has expertise in team dynamics. His current research focuses on areas such as role transition issues, emotions in the workplace, social identification, and organization identity change.
Dr. Tony Kwasnica Dr. Tony Kwasnica
Associate Professor of Business Economics

Kwasnica has expertise in microeconomic theory, game theory, and experimental economics. His research supports insights on the ability of competitive markets to aggregate information and the phenomenon of "lock-in" to inferior product innovations.
Dr. Gary Lilien Dr. Gary Lilien
Distinguished Professor of Management Science

Lilien has expertise in market segmentation, new product modeling, bargaining and negotiations in business markets, and innovation diffusion modeling. He is also one of the founders of marketing engineering, a process that shifts marketing from opinions-driven to data-driven decision making.

An active entrepreneur for more than 20 years, Macy’s research is largely focused on the strategic management of intellectual capital and the use of knowledge and knowledge workers to facilitate innovation.

Instructor in Communications

Mahon has expertise in communications ranging from oral, written, and graphic presentation skills. Before joining Smeal, she worked in Penn State’s College of Liberal Arts and in University Business Administration/Financial Operations.
Dr. Chris Muscarella Dr. Chris Muscarella

Muscarella has expertise in corporate finance, initial public offerings, limited partnerships, patents, and venture capital. Prior to coming to Penn State, Muscarella was a senior financial economist with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, where he focused on insider trading cases and public policy issues.

Oliva has expertise in business-to-business marketing and branding, integrated market communications, ingredient branding, and executive education analysis and design. Before joining Smeal, Oliva was a marketing executive at Texas Instruments.

Sheehan has expertise in finance and statistics with research on the extent and function of managerial stock ownership, the role of active shareholders in monitoring the firm, and the pricing of seasoned equity offerings by investment banks. Sheehan has also taught at Purdue University, the University of Chicago, and the University of Rochester.

Thomas has expertise in inventory management, production planning and coordination, and sales and operations planning. He has twice been honored with the MBA Excellence in Teaching award and is a frequent faculty leader in both open-enrollment and custom executive education programs.
Dr. Linda Klebe Trevino Dr. Linda Klebe Trevino
Distinguished Professor of Organizational Behavior and Ethics

Trevino has expertise in the management of ethical conduct in organizations, organizational justice and diversity, discipline, downsizing, and ethical leadership. She co-authored the textbook “Managing Business Ethics; Straight Talk About How to Do it Right,” which is in its fourth edition.
Dr. Albert Vicere Dr. Albert Vicere
Executive Education Professor for Strategic Leadership

Vicere has expertise in executive and leadership development. He has consulted with numerous firms including BASF, Cisco Systems, McDonald’s, Samsung, and Unilever. The author of more than 80 articles and professional papers, his latest books include "Leadership by Design" and “The Many Facets of Leadership.”
