Internship Program
For most students, internships are a critical part of the MBA experience. An internship may provide critical work experience if you are changing career paths. Or, it may validate your decision to pursue work in a particular industry. In some cases, it is used by the employer as a "twelve week interview" in determining whether to offer you a permanent position. Whatever your particular situation, an internship provides an excellent opportunity to apply what you are learning in the classroom, prove your capabilities, gather knowledge about a company or industry, and augment your previous professional experience.
The Penn State Smeal MBA Program supports students in their internship search in much of the same way as with their permanent search. We provide a user-friendly, efficient internship recruiting process for our students, which includes resume distribution to interested companies, on-line job postings exclusive to Smeal MBA students, networking with former interns and alumni, and on-campus job interviews. These efforts have resulted in over 95 percent of students securing internships in each of the last five years.
