Visits and Events

One of the best ways to learn about all that the Penn State Smeal MBA Program has to offer is to meet with current students, faculty, alumni, and admissions staff. Throughout the year, Smeal offers numerous opportunities to do just that, both in person and online.

Webcasts

Webcasts are live online audio and visual presentations that offer relevant information quickly while offering chat functionality. Ask your questions and receive instant responses from the presenters. Our technology is easy to use and requires no special skills. Once you register for the event, you will receive log in information via e-mail. We recommend logging in 10-15 minutes prior to the start of the presentation.

Chats

Login

Usually about 90 minutes long, you may join a live chat anytime to ask questions and chat with the Director of Admissions and/or Assistant Director of Admissions, members of the admissions team, current students, and other participants such as alumni or International Student Services, depending on the scheduled chat topic for the day. For most chats, we will indicate particular topics in advance that shape will the primary questioning. While a topic may be specified, we still welcome any and all questions participants may have during our chat events. Transcripts of past chats are also included below.

MBA for a Day

Join us on campus to learn more about the Penn State Smeal MBA program, the application process, student and career services and the MBA curriculum. While you're here you'll also get a tour of the Business Building, and the chance to sit in on a live class. During these pre-scheduled group-visit dates, you will have the opportunity to interact with the entire MBA community, including current students, faculty and staff.

Hours are 8:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m.

Join us for a special MBA for a Day event focused on the women who define the Penn State Smeal MBA community and the opportunities a Smeal MBA can provide for women.

Individual Visit

If you can't make it to one of the scheduled MBA for a Day events, we can arrange an individual visit to the campus. We strongly suggest scheduling your visit on a day that you can observe an MBA class session in action, and you have time for lunch or coffee with one of our current students. Visitation Weekend 2010 - April 8-10

Admitted Students are invited to join us for a great way to get to know the program and the community. They will meet future classmates, get to know current students and alumni, try their hand at analyzing a business case, get the inside tour of Smeal and Penn State, and see what it's like to be a part of this special community.
