Assistantships

Information about assistantships for students in the Smeal MBA program is presented.

Assistantships

Approximately 1/3 of MBA students in the Smeal College of Business receive assistantships each year. MBA students with assistantships receive full tuition coverage and a monthly stipend in exchange for working 10-20 hours/week in a position in the college.

Graduate assistants are employed in a variety of positions, including as a research assistant in a research center or with a professor, or in an administrative unit in the College.

All MBA students are considered for assistantships when they apply for admission. No separate application is necessary. Preference is given to those who apply before February 1. Decisions are based on a student's merit after reviewing past academic and employment performance. Recipients are notified in the spring.
