An Introduction to Trading and Analysis
July 13-18, 2008
A resident and day camp for high school students entering grades 10 through 12.
Stock Market Madness provides you with a glimpse into the world of finance and the stock market. You'll spend a week in the state-of-the-art Trading Room at Penn State's Smeal College of Business and participate in trading games and learn about probability, statistics, and portfolio theory. You'll study important basics about financial management from Penn State professors and students--and find out whether a career in finance is right for you.

Activities
- Trade and compete in simulated financial markets
- Work in teams to analyze your favorite companies
- Build models in Microsoft Excel to analyze and value stocks
- Use the tools of Wall Street professionals (Bloomberg, Reuters, Tradestation)
- Learn how poker strategies are applied to investing
- Take field trips to the campus pool, Beaver Stadium, Sports Museum, Berkey Creamery, and a State College Spikes baseball game.
