Biography
Richard Staelin is the Edward and Rose Donnell Professor of Business Administration at the Fuqua School of Business, Duke University. He graduated from the University of Michigan and taught at Carnegie-Mellon University, the University of Chicago, and the Australian Graduate School of Management prior to his arrival at Duke in 1982. Since then, he has been deputy dean, associate dean of executive education, executive director for the Teradata Center for CRM, and the initial managing director of GEMBA at Duke. He has received best paper awards from Journal of Marketing Research and Marketing Science and the Outstanding Educator and Converse awards from the American Marketing Association. He also served on the editorial boards of Marketing Science, Journal of Marketing Research, Journal of Marketing, and Journal of Consumer Research; was the editor of Marketing Science for three years; and serves as the consulting editor for the Journal of Marketing’s special issue on customer relationship management. Dr. Staelin has served on more than forty doctoral committees and on the Board of Directors for a small biotech firm (BioElectronics) and the Advisory Board for a small customer relationship management firm (Intelliworks).
