An intimate analysis of Google and its success, by a seasoned venture capitalist and technology columnist from Mountain View, CA - Google’s hometown.

Speaker: Angela Hey

How did Google's vision help it grow from a Stanford University research project to a multi-billion dollar corporation in just ten years? The presentation discusses how Google has changed the world of marketing, how it strives to enable cloud computing and how mobility is shaping in its future.  An analysis of how Google created new businesses and displaced existing competitors will show where the company's strengths and vulnerabilities lie. Google's approach to acquisitions, adverts and applications will be discussed.

Google is located in Mountain View, California where Angela Hey reports on technology for the Mountain View Voice, the town's newspaper.  She has consulted to high tech companies including IBM, Toshiba, the Federal Reserve Bank, Sun Microsystems and numerous venture-backed startup businesses.  She has also advised venture capitalists on investments in computing and telecommunications.
