The Penn State Smeal Executive MBA curriculum was developed in consultation with industry leaders. Courses are continually updated based on the latest research and business trends.
We have designed our curriculum so that you can tackle substantial business challenges and readily apply class content to issues from your own organization.
Students learn the basics of business in the first year of the program. This foundation includes courses and experiences focused on Principled Leadership, Strategic Analysis, and Financial Management. During year one you will also begin meeting one-on-one with an executive coach. You will meet with your coach throughout the remainder of the program, allowing you to identify and work on the skills and traits you need for your own personal success.
The second year develops a combination of skills across the fundamentals of business that are critical for a senior leader. Year two also includes an international immersion experience to a vital global business region.
In the News: The 2014 global immersion trip to the Czech Republic was a program highlight for Jim Rygalski, class of 2014. "One of the best things about the program is the environment of learning from each other, and that was really reinforced on the immersion trip," he said.
