Curriculum
The curriculum of the Executive MBA Program in the Smeal College of Business is presented.
Curriculum
The Smeal Executive MBA curriculum was developed in consultation with industry leaders, and the courses are continually updated based on the latest research and business trends.
Students learn the basics of business in the first year of the program. Intertwined throughout the first year is our award winning Leadership Communications module. During year one you will also begin meeting one-on-one with an executive coach. You will meet with your coach throughout the remainder of the program allowing you to identify and work on the skills and traits you need for your own personal success.
In addition, each student conducts a Strategic Assessment Project in
which they analyze their own firm in detail. As a capstone for the
first year of the program, the students then present this analysis to
their classmates in preparation for delivering the same message to
management within their firm.
The second year develops a combination of skills across the fundamentals of business that are critical for a senior leader. The Smeal experience is unique in that real problems from the students' own firms form the basis of many assignments.
