The staff of the Smeal College of Business Development Office.

Todd Sloan

Todd Sloan serves as director of development for the Smeal College of Business. In this role, Todd oversees the college's efforts to build relationships with alumni and friends, solicit philanthropic support, and steward that support in a way that is meaningful for donors. Todd works closely with the Dean to advance Smeal's strategic goals and in cooperation with the volunteer members of the Smeal Campaign Committee.

Todd joined the Smeal Development team as director of major gifts in November 2009. Before that, he was vice president of advancement for LeMoyne College in Syracuse, NY.  Todd has worked in higher education advancement in Pennsylvania and New York for more than 20 years. He holds a degree in political science from Penn State, where he served as president of the Undergraduate Student Government his senior year. He currently serves on the Penn State Lion's Paw board of directors.

Jill Ashton

As director of major gifts for the Smeal College of Business, Jill Ashton works to help alumni and friends develop and achieve their philanthropic goals. Her focus is on working with donors and prospective donors in the Washington, D.C. area and the southern U.S., particularly Florida.

Jill joined the Smeal Development team in August 2010. Before joining Smeal, Jill was director of development for the Graduate School and Division of Undergraduate Studies at Florida State University. Jill is a graduate of Florida State, with degrees in political science and art history.

Elizabeth Beck

Betsy Beck is development specialist for the Smeal College of Business. In this role she supports the fundraising activities of the college, with a special focus on staff travel and support for the director of development.

Betsy joined the Smeal team in January 2009 following four years in Development with the College of Information Sciences and Technology. Betsy holds a degree in psychology from Penn State.

Scott Graham

As director of major gifts for the Smeal College of Business, Scott Graham works to help alumni and friends develop and achieve with their philanthropic goals. He focuses on donors and prospective donors in the New York City, New Jersey, and New England regions.

Scott joined the Smeal Development team in January 2010. He came to Smeal from the College of the Holy Cross in Worcester, Massachusetts, where he was an athletics fundraiser. Scott holds a bachelor's degree in economics from Penn State and a master's of education in sport and recreation administration from Temple University.

Kaylin Kopcho

As associate director of development for the Smeal College of Business, Kaylin Kopcho works to identify alumni and friends with strong affinity for the college and solicit their philanthropic support. Her geographic focus is eastern Pennsylvania, Maryland, West Coast and Southwest.  

Kaylin joined the Smeal Development team in January 2011. Previously, she was director of development for the Patton College of Education and Human Services at Ohio University. Kaylin graduated from Penn State with a degree in pharmacology and began her development career at Penn State Lion Line, the telefund arm of the Office of Annual Giving.

Susan Lingle

Sues Lingle is college and alumni relations assistant for the Smeal College of Business. In this role she supports the fundraising activities of the college, with a special focus on staff travel, budget, and football.

Sues joined the Smeal Development team in March 2007, following seven years with Penn State's School of Nursing. She holds an associate degree in business administration.

Peggy O'Brien Marsh

Peggy O'Brien Marsh is part-time writer/editor for the Smeal Development team. She supports the fundraising activities of the college by preparing a wide range of written materials.

Peggy joined the Smeal team in April 2008. She has worked within the Office of University Development at Penn State since 1997. Prior to that she spent eight years in government relations and fundraising roles in Washington, D.C. Peggy holds a degree in journalism from the University of Kansas.

Joe Scialabba

As director of major gifts for the Smeal College of Business, Joe Scialabba works to help alumni and friends develop and achieve their philanthropic goals. His focus is on working with donors and prospective donors in western and south central Pennsylvania, upstate New York, Ohio, Oregon, and Washington.

Joe joined the Smeal development team in February 2011. Before that, he served as vice president of advancement for Mount Aloysius Colleges in Cresson, chief development officer for the Diocese of Altoona - Johnstown, and in various administrative roles at Juniata College. Joe holds a bachelor's degree in communications/English from Juniata College and a master's degree in non-profit management from Regis University (CO).

Jonathan Thurley

As director of major gifts for the Smeal College of Business, Jonathan Thurley works to help alumni and friends develop and achieve their philanthropic goals. His focus is on working with donors and prospective donors in the Philadelphia, Chicago and Texas regions.

Jonathan joined the Smeal Development team in April 2012. He comes to Smeal from the College of Communications, where he was the Associate Director of Development. Jonathan is a graduate of Western New England University, with a degree in Marketing Communications/Advertising.

Bernadine Weitoish

Bernie Weitoish is staff assistant for the Smeal College of Business. In this role she supports the fundraising activities of the college, with a focus on staff travel and coordination with the dean's office.

Bernie joined the Smeal team in August 2006, following 14 years of service in various areas at Penn State. Bernie is a graduate of South Hills School of Business and Technology.

Ronda Williams

Ronda Williams is development assistant/stewardship coordinator for the college. In this role she supports the fundraising activities of the college, with a special focus on stewarding Smeal donors.

Ronda has worked for the Smeal College for more than twenty years, and she has been a member of the Development staff since 2005. She is a graduate of South Hills School of Business and Technology.
