Center for Teams and Negotiation

Organizations are increasingly turning to teams as potential sources of competitive advantage. Teams have the ability to harness the divergent capabilities of their members, producing innovative, efficient, and effective outcomes. This has made understanding how to staff, structure, motivate, and lead teams a critical responsibility for organizational leaders.

Simultaneously, the ability to manage the social relationships within and between organizations has emerged as a vital skill in global management. Every relationship worth investing in requires some level of negotiation of needs and values – developing a proficiency in influence and negotiation is therefore mandatory to teamwork and leadership.

The Center for Teams and Negotiation sits at the intersection of these two issues. It is our mission to develop cutting-edge knowledge on teamwork and negotiation, which we can deliver to the broader community. The center’s faculty members are amongst the leading scholars in teamwork and social relations, drawn from multiple disciplines, with the common goal of answering the critical questions facing organizations and organizational members today.
