Former Deputy Under Secretary of Defense (Logistics & Material Readiness)
The Honorable Roger W. Kallock was first appointed Deputy Under Secretary of Defense (Logistics) in May 1998 and then nominated by the President and confirmed by the Senate as Deputy Under Secretary of Defense (Logistics & Material Readiness) in September 2000.
As the DUSD (L&MR), Mr. Kallock had oversight of the military departments’ logistics activities that annually cost taxpayers over $80B. He also oversaw policy for the Department of Defense (DoD) in materials management, maintenance, transportation, logistics information systems, and EDI.
Since leaving DoD, Mr. Kallock founded Chagrin Consulting Associates and has focused his attention on issues relating to Supply Chain Resilience including: preparation for the unexpected, failing smartly and change leadership. From his unique private sector/military logistics leadership experience, he is driven to accelerate sharing between military and private sector logisticians.
Prior to DoD, Mr. Kallock was a Managing Partner at Computer Sciences Corporation (CSC) and a co-founder and chairman of Cleveland Consulting Associates (CCA), one of the world’s earliest advocates for integrating logistics management functions with information technology. His 35 years of private sector logistics experience started with Procter and Gamble, where he had a series of distribution and customer service assignments, followed by his initial consulting experience with A T Kearney.
