Supply Chains and Big Data

Evolving information technology capability featuring the gathering and analysis of large data sets is popularly referred to as big data. Gartner defines big data as "high-volume, high-velocity, and/or high-variety information assets that require new forms of processing to enable enhanced decision making, insight discovery and process optimization."  Opportunities to use big data are just beginning to become available to and impact supply chain management.  This forum will explore where these innovation opportunities exist and how they can be exploited to achieve improved collaboration across the supply chain.

Twice a year the Center for Supply Chain Research sponsors an invitation-only, issues discussion program called the Supply Chain Leaders Forum. Its purpose is to foster peer-to-peer discussions of current issues dealing with logistics and supply chain management. The program is intended for mid to senior level supply chain managers and executives.

We are pleased that Mr. Eric Peters, the president and CEO of Foodlink, will be our program director for the forum.  Mr. Peters bringing more than 25 years experience in supply chain management and is a leading authority on consumer product and retail industry business strategies.

Join CSCR for the Spring 2013 Supply Chain Leaders Forum: Supply Chains and Big Data to be held March 13 - 14, 2013, at The Penn Stater Conference Center and Hotel, University Park, Pennsylvania.
