The United States Olympic Committee named Lisa Baird Chief Marketing Officer in January 2009. Baird is will direct the USOC's Sales and Marketing Division and oversee the development of innovative corporate sponsorship and licensing programs that deliver maximum return-on-investment to the USOC's family of Corporate Partners while leveraging the unique attributes of the U.S. Olympic Team brand.
Prior to joining the USOC, Baired served as named Baird Senior Vice Vresident of marketing for the National Football League, where she was responsible for the NFL’s marketing, brand development, advertising and fan development programs, including the research, direct marketing, and database functions. In addition, she directs the MBNA NFL, Extra Points, credit card program, the first sports rewards card.
Prior to joining the NFL, Baird was a senior-level marketing and advertising executive with IBM, General Motors, and the Procter & Gamble Company. At IBM, she served as the vice president of World Wide Integrated Marketing Communications, heading up a division that provided services in over 70 countries. Baird also served as one of the lead executives for the Corporation’s Diversity Initiatives program, a program that worked to create opportunity for women owned businesses.
Prior to IBM, Baird worked at General Motors in Detroit where she held various marketing positions including serving as brand manager of the Pontiac Grand Am, regional marketing manager in the Northeast Sales Division, and marketing lead for the company’s consumer Internet activities.
Long recognized for her professionalism and leadership skills, Baird serves on the Association of National Advertisers and the New York American Marketing Association Boards. She was named one of the top Business-to-Business Marketers in 2004 and was recognized by Advertising Women of New York (AWNY) for Top Advertising Women of the Year honors (2003) and Top Working Mothers (2004).
Baird earned her BA and M.B.A. degrees from The Pennsylvania State University.
