Dr. Artemisia Apostolopoulou, PhD, is an associate professor of sport management in the School of Business at Robert Morris University. Prior to joining RMU, Apostolopoulou was a member of the sport management faculty at Bowling Green State University. She teaches Sport Marketing & Promotion at the undergraduate and graduate levels and Introduction to Sport Management. She has also taught courses in International Sport Management and Professional Resources in Sport Management.
Her research interests include branding and brand extension strategies, sport sponsorship, and the fusion of sport and entertainment. She has presented work in numerous national and international conferences and co-authored several book chapters. Her work has been published in Sport Marketing Quarterly, the International Journal of Sports Marketing & Sponsorship, the Journal of Product & Brand Management, and the Journal of Promotion Management. In addition to serving as associate editor of SMQ, Apostolopoulou is a member of the editorial board for the International Journal of Sport Management, Recreation & Tourism and serves as the archivist for the North American Society for Sport Management. She has also served as a consultant with the National Basketball Association’s Market Research department and the Atlanta Hawks’ E-Marketing & Interactive Services group.
