Alumni Society Board of Directors Awards and Scholarships

The Smeal Alumni Society has established several awards to recognize the contributions of the College's alumni to their communities, as well as to the College and the University. These awards are:

Smeal MBA Distinguished Achievement Award

To honor alumni whose career achievements have brought distinction to themselves and Smeal College, and whose commitment of time, talent, or resources has been key to enhancing the prestige of the Smeal College.

Smeal Undergraduate Distinguished Achievement Award

To honor alumni whose career achievements have brought distinction to themselves and Smeal College, and whose commitment of time, talent, or resources has been key to enhancing the prestige of the Smeal College.

Alumni Service Award

Awarded to alumni whose exceptional allegiance to Smeal College and outstanding professional achievements have brought distinction to the College and University. Recipients play a key role in the progress and enhanced reputation of Smeal College through their commitment of time and resources.

Board Sponsorship Award

Awarded to one outstanding Smeal graduating senior with demonstrated leadership in the Smeal College and outstanding scholarship. Provides travel and lodging stipend to attend the Alumni Society Board meetings over the course of two years following graduation. In addition, the award pays for the recipient's membership fee for the Penn State Alumni Association during the sponsorship period.

Alumni Diversity Award

Honors alumni who have demonstrated a commitment to Smeal College's goal of being a diverse and mutually supportive community which provides a climate of sensitivity, open-mindedness, and respect. Recipients support the Minority Scholarship Program and are personally involved with minority programs and students.

Student Diversity Award

To recognize a graduate or undergraduate student for leadership in an individual or group project that furthers diversity efforts in Smeal College.

Corporate Diversity Award

To recognize a corporation, business, or foundation which has excelled in its support of minority programs of the College and the recruitment of minority students for internships and full-time positions. Recipients have a demonstrated record (three or more years) of support of minority programs and recruitment.

Smeal Achievement Award

These awards recognize the career success and community service of alumni who have graduated from the College within the past fifteen years. Individuals are nominated through the College's seven academic departments.
