The Smeal Outstanding Young Alumnus Award recognizes a graduate for his/her career achievements and community service.
2012 Award Recipient: Michael R. Denove '02 Accounting
Denove is a senior manager with Ernst & Young’s Assurance Practice in Pittsburgh. He has more than nine years of audit experience serving public and private multinational clients. Since graduating from Penn State, Denove has been actively involved in recruiting. He is the co-campus lead for the East Central area, which includes Pittsburgh, Philadelphia, Baltimore, Washington, D.C., and New York. He visits the campus on a frequent basis to interview candidates as well as present various accounting-related topics to students and faculty. He is also responsible for overseeing Ernst &Young’s matching gift program. Denove resides in Pittsburgh with his wife Dana and eleven-month-old daughter Ella.
