5 Questions and More.....
Interview with Hal Wright, Jr.
What has been your most memorable moment at Penn State?
The day I arrived to campus, as I had never visited before my first day of orientation. It was love at first sight.
How did you transition into your career as an insurance broker?
After five years of working for two companies, I realized I would never be content as a corporate employee. My father owned a corner store, so I was conditioned for small business.
If you had to do it all over again, would you do anything differently?
Not much. I guess I could have been more financially successful, but not happier.
What is the best suggestion you can give to a recent Smeal graduate entering the professional world?
Keep working to find a career you enjoy. That way, it won't be work and you will be better at it. A career is the gift you give yourself.
You are involved in many Penn State activities, what do you feel has been your most significant contribution?
My most significant contribution is whatever knowledge I can pass along to the students.
