Letter from the Dean: January 2014

January 2014

Dear Smeal College Alumni and Friends:

We are a few weeks into the New Year now, and here on campus, we've jumped into the spring semester. Students are already weeks into their classes, meeting with recruiters, and preparing for our first Executive Insights session with Executive Vice President of PPG Industries, Michael H. McGarry.

The beginning of a new year is a great time to become more involved with the college, and I hope you'll think about doing so. We have a series of upcoming webinar events, and it's free to register. Also, please save the date for our next Impact Smeal Day here in the Business Building, to be held on March 28. (Read about last semester's event.) We would love to see many of you here to connect with each other as well as students and faculty.

From regional alumni groups to student mentoring, recruitment, and more, there are many opportunities for you to get involved. And you can keep up with what's happening at Smeal in several ways: follow us on Facebook and Twitter, join the Smeal alumni group on LinkedIn, check for recent news on our website, or sign up for the new Penn State Smeal College of Business Newswire to have the latest news delivered to your inbox each week. We hope to hear from you or see you soon.

Best regards,

Charles H. Whiteman
John and Becky Surma Dean of Smeal
