Patricia A. Woertz, ’74, is president, chief executive officer, and member of the Board of Directors for Archer Daniels Midland Company, one of the world's largest agricultural processors of soybeans, corn, wheat and cocoa. Prior to joining Archer Daniels Midland Company, she was executive vice president of Chevron Texaco Corporation where she was responsible for directing the company's worldwide refining, marketing, lubricants, and supply and trading business. Previously, she served as president of Chevron Products Co., Chevron’s U.S. refining and fuels marketing company, and as a vice president of Chevron Corporation.
Ms. Woertz is a native of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. She graduated in 1974 with a bachelor’s degree in accounting from The Pennsylvania State University. While at Penn State, she was a member of the Beta Alpha Psi honorary society for accounting majors. In October 1994, she graduated from Columbia University’s International Executive Development Program. Ms. Woertz is a lifetime member of the Penn State Alumni Association. She serves on the board of directors of the American Petroleum Institute and the California Chamber of Commerce. In 2001, Ms. Woertz was ranked 8th on FORTUNE magazine’s “Most Powerful Women in Business” list.
