Michael J. Farrell, ’71, is president and chief operating officer of Farrell & Company, an investment banking firm specializing in manufacturing. He was selected by the Penn State Board of Trustees to receive the Distinguished Alumni Award in 2001. His leadership and gifts have created The Farrell Chair for Entrepreneurial Studies and the Farrell Center for Corporate Innovation and Entrepreneurship.

Mr. Farrell was awarded an OPM from the Graduate School of Business Administration at Harvard University. He received a bachelor of science in accounting and management information systems from Penn State in 1971, and is a certified public accountant.
