Robert Banks, ’66, is is CEO of Banks & Associates LLC, a real estate investment organization he recently formed. Previously, he was CEO, founder, and majority owner of Midland Financial Holdings, Inc., which was a holding company for several operating companies that, collectively, made up the Midland Companies (Midland). Midland was a national financial organization that provided both debt and equity financing for apartments throughout the United States. In 1999, Bob sold Midland to Municipal Mortgage & Equity, LLC, and became vice chairman of their board until he resigned on December 31, 2004.

Bob is a licensed Real Estate Broker in the state of Florida and holds the CCIM designation, awarded by the Commercial Real Estate Council in Chicago, IL. He is also a director for Synovus Bank of Tampa Bay; Ruth Eckerd Hall for the Performing Arts in Clearwater, FL; SUNZ Insurance Company in St. Petersburg, FL; and is a director and member of the executive committee of Suncoast Golf Classic, Inc., a non-profit organization that sponsors the Chrysler Championship, a PGA golf tournament in Clearwater, FL. He is also a trustee for the Robert & Jennifer Banks Foundation, whose main mission is to assist adolescents suffering from chemical dependency issues. Bob served four years as an officer in the United States Marine Corps and was discharged at the rank of Captain.
