Dear Smeal College Alumni and Friends:
Another academic year is gaining momentum here at the Smeal College of Business. The exciting start to the fall semester has included our annual week of Honor Code signing sessions in the Atrium, numerous career fairs in the Business Building and across campus to connect students with opportunities at top companies, and an engaging Executive Insights Q&A session with Siemens President and CEO Eric Spiegel.
I invite you to stay up to date on all that's happening at your business school alma mater by visiting our newly redesigned news website at news.smeal.psu.edu or connecting with us on Facebook, LinkedIn--Penn State Smeal College of Business Alumni (Official)--and Twitter.
We also want to hear about your accomplishments. The Smeal Alumni Society Board Awards Program is one way we recognize individuals for leadership, working to further diversity efforts, achieving career success, and enhancing the prestige of the college. I encourage members of the Smeal Alumni Society to submit award nominations by the Nov. 1 deadline. Visit smeal.psu.edu/alumni to access the online nomination form.
This year marks our 60th anniversary as an academic college at Penn State, and we have much to celebrate. This is also the final year of For the Future: The Campaign for Penn State Students, which has brought an outpouring of generous support from Smeal alumni and friends over the past six years. Philanthropy has a powerful impact on the entire Smeal community, and you can visit givenow.psu.edu to participate.
These milestones in Smeal history combined with the strength of our programs today make me very optimistic about the future. Thank you for your engagement with the college.
Charles H. Whiteman
The John and Becky Surma Dean of Smeal
